The research needed to be conducted included understanding the need of this project specifically as it is not very often that we find two airports in close proximity to one another being less than 150 kilometers apart. Dholera International Airport is one such exception being only 84 kilometers away from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

There have been various references made in Indian history as far back as the Ramayan Era mentioning the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya from Lanka in the Pushpak Viman.

In the early 1500s, Leonardo Da Vinci wrote a book in which he talked about the mechanical principles of the movement of birds and these were the first steps towards understanding aviation for humans.

Later were the Wright brothers of whom we are all aware.

India is currently the third-largest and fastest-growing aviation market in the domestic sector. The country was expected to be the 3rd largest aviation market in terms of passenger footfall by 2024, the growth has been hindered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) will be at the center of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and hence the Dholera International Airport will be a massive anchor for the region.

The airport will also cater to the spillover traffic from Ahmedabad Airport which has been functioning at maximum capacity.
